After finishing three years apprenticeship as an optician, Doerte went to the University of Applied Sciences in Aalen, Germany to study Ophthalmic Optics. In 2000 she wrote her diploma thesis at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia on “Dynamics of corneal deformation’. During the next four years she worked in an optical practice in Germany until she began her Masters degree in Vision Science in September 2005 in the CCLR of UW, accelerating to work on her PhD in September 2006.
Under the supervision of Lyndon Jones Doerte is studying the quantity and location of deposits on contact lenses by using confocal microscopy. |
