Marina graduated from the University of Pretoria in South Africa and is a radiographer and radiotherapist. She has worked as an ultrasound and CT scanning technician, a general radiographer and in a radiotherapy clinic. She was employed as an optometric assistant at the University of Houston and has also worked in optometric practices in Houston and Waterloo. Since 1997 Marina has worked as an Ophthalmic Technician for the Centre for Contact Lens Research
